Doing a bit of traveling on the Pasty Cam today, in different modes of transportation. We start out in 2004, with a shot from David Antikainen, looking up 5th Street in Calumet. Some of the signs are the same, some have changed through the years. Hard to believe this town once had a population of 90,000 in the Copper Boom days.
Take a quick jaunt to 2014 and join Chris Van Arsdale for a look at the Snowmobile Trail Groomer. That’s Superior Snowmobile Groomer #4, which keeps the Twin Lakes area trails in good shape for riding. It looks like quite the vehicle, with tracks that can get through any snow it encounters.
The last transportation for today was recorded by Bob Gilreath while on a drive to Marquette. He stopped in Three Lakes and videoed the train going through. There’s something about the sound of the train whistle when it’s coming to a highway crossing... I love that sound!

This is not a good day to travel, for sure. Dangerous wind chills all aver the country, with 30 below zero temps in many areas of the U.P. I even heard that Chicago won't see anything above zero today. brrrr

Yes, Charlie, our high today has been -5 and it's getting colder again. At 9am the windchill was -43.
Use common sense and be careful out there Pasty friends!

Still -20° with a -39° windchill here in Milwaukee. But they are promising a warm up. Should be in the 50's by Monday.

I have frozen body parts that I didn't even know I had. "Wintertime is a razor blade that the devil made It's the price we pay for the summertime" (James Gang)
