Baraga Historical Society treated us to some A&W 6 years ago, and we're back again... this time to discover it's available in bottles!

Baraga was my hub during the days of the Wing. From there I could venture UP, south, east and west.

my mom and I use to go there for a hot dog and root beer.

as a kid, as a treat, they use to take us to an a and w on john r. I do not remember if it was in ferndale or madison heights...or somewhere in between

I just read there is a 13 car pile up on the sceney stretch. that is all the details it gave. read it on wluc.

Back in the early/mid 50's, our parents used to take my brother and I to local "Frostop" Drive In. Root beer in a frozen mug, small 5¢, large 10¢. Best Hamburgers. never really, still don't care much for root beer, but those tasted fabulous...great memories.

And then today an NMU student was tragically found dead from winter exposure after hiking. A very dangerous cold spell indeed.

I still have very fond memories of many family trips in Grand Rapids to the A&W drive-in in our 58 Chevy.
