Today’s archive look back starts out with a photo snapped by Skylar Baxter, in 2005. He shared this view from the bluff outside of South Range. We’re looking toward Hancock, Ripley and the Quincy Hill. If you look closely, you can see the Quincy Mine Shaft up there on the hill.
Another lofty view in the archives on this day, came to us from E. Neil Harri back in 2009. Neil was flying over Isle Royale’s Rock Harbor and snapped a winter look for us to see. I like the pattern of the cracks right there in the Harbor.
If you’re familiar with Isle Royale, you’re probably aware of the Winter studies that have taken place over the years. Today’s video from George Desort was made in 2009, showing how they collect water for the time they spend there during the study. Interesting...
