Kids and winter go together well and it’s always fun to see them out enjoying the fresh air. Today’s first archive shot was snapped by Jeff Dennis in 2014, out at his Little Traverse Bay camp. This has always been a favorite of mine, with his kids tramping through the snow along the trail they had made on the way in to the camp. Check out that beautiful winter sunshine and shadows, too.
In the next photo we join Brita Haapala’s kids on their backyard ice rink for a game of hockey back in 2016. Neat photo capture of the face-off, with the puck suspended in midair. It’s great to see siblings outdoors, enjoying being together and having a good time.
Today’s video takes a look at a U.P. backyard ice rink. It’s a little bit of work to keep it shoveled off and flooded for smooth ice, but so worth it to have your own rink that the kids can skate on whenever they want.
