Winter beauty abounds on the Pasty Cam today. Starting off with a wintry waterfall, snapped by Fred Koski back in 2004. These are the Mountain Stream Falls, located on a river called Mountain Stream which runs between Mountain Lake and Pine Lake on the Huron Mountain Club property. Reminds me a little of Tahquamenon Falls.
John Dodge shared the second archive photo in 2013. He captured a common U.P. snowy scene, one we often see after a good snowfall here UP North. Not much color in the winter, so it looks like a black and white photo, even though it's really in color.
Our current photo for today was taken by Melanie Hakala Rossi this past week. She was out at the Tobacco River Park, past Gay and found the shoreline there to be ice covered and slippery. It was also a windy day, the waves were splashing and the air was biting cold. Melanie captured it all quite well, I’m shivering just looking at this picture.
We visit a different falls in today’s video published by Michigan’s Water Falls in the winter of 2010. Take a look at and listen to the frozen Memorial Falls near Munising, MI. The sound of the water falling inside the frozen falls is music to my ears!
