The Pasty Cam is on the road today... both in archive photos and a more current shot, too. Back in 2001 we joined Thomas Simpson on a street in what looks like it could be Laurium, but actually that was a street in Grand Rapids, where Charlie had noted that a large number of our Pasty orders had come from this town back then. Interesting…
In 2007, Sharon Smith took us on a snowy ride on US-41, somewhere south of Copper Harbor in her travels to and from the big towns, Calumet/Laurium and beyond. I wonder if any of those snow laden branches ever unloaded on her car as she passed underneath.
Joy Ziemnick was in downtown Calumet, in 2016, checking out 5th Street. Looks like there were a number of folks out shopping that day, probably out looking for those “after Christmas” sales.
Just last week, Joe Kirkish took a drive to Copper Harbor, but he found the road looking quite different than Sharon had 11 years earlier. While her shot was snow covered and slippery looking, Joe’s drive was with sunny skies and bare roads. We’ve had more snow since this recent shot, so I’m not sure it still looks like this now, or more like Sharon’s photo.
If you’re missing the Keweenaw and driving on snow covered roads, we have just the video for you. Join E. Neil Harri on a drive from the Snow Thermometer to the Phoenix Store. Sit back and enjoy the journey.

At first I thought E. Neil Harri's vehicle was fish tailing slightly. Then I realized it was the camera panning left-right every so often.
The last of our 14 inches has just melted in 50+ degrees today. Not to worry though. More Winter is on the way.
Hope everyone had a blessed and merry Christmas.

Very observant D.A.!
I'd rather drive on those roads in the 2018 picture
than what Neil navigated!

Thanks for the exhilarating drive, Mr. Harry, down a very familiar section of 41 to 26. Brought back memories of the Wing in summertime.
