We’re doing a bit of traveling in the archives today, beginning with a stop in the Munising area at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Miners Castle. Scott Mitchell took us there in 2007, so we could enjoy the view from the warmth of our home, while he braved the elements and the short hike to the lookout.
Our next stop is the Baraga/Houghton County line, to get a view of the Sturgeon River. I don’t have a precise spot where Karl Berg snapped this photo from back in 2008, but it sure is a beautiful vista with the sugary white snow coating the bare trees and ground.
In 2015, Frank Jezek captured this Cardinal at his Ontonagon feeding station, in the midst of a snowstorm. I love the contrast of the white snow and the bright red of the male Cardinal. Good thing Frank feeds our feathered friends to help them make it through the winter months.
While we’re feeding birds with Frank, we might as well join another bird feeder that attracts not only birds, but deer and wild turkeys to his feeding station, too.

Sweet pix and video!
Nothin like a little Wild Turkey to go along with your grub.

Have often heard deer & wild turkeys eat together.
Maybe they like the same feed? Or during the Winter
it's any ol' port in a storm?
