Our archive review today begins with a shot from Roger Kangas in 2007. It looks like those stumps are wearing snowy berets or maybe they’re mushroom tops. Interesting how the snow piles up like that around the outside of the stump and just stays there so perfectly.

We have a snowless scene taken in 2009 by Shirley Wetton (RCW’s other half). She took that out in Bootjack at their summer home and the lake was so calm it provided a perfect mirror image. The day it first appeared, we featured it upside down and right side up and it was hard to tell which was which.

In 2013, E. Neil Harri was up flying over Eagle River and snapped a great aerial view of the town, the harbor, the marina and beyond. It’s always a pleasure to join Neil on a flight, he absolutely has the best view around.

Just this past weekend, Melanie Hakala Rossi and friends were out and about on snowshoes again. Those ladies sure do get around and they get plenty of exercise and fresh air while doing so. Melanie captured a stream below and some interesting fungi on the tree there, too. So much beauty to be found in our Keweenaw woods.

Pure Michigan put out this video promoting winter in Michigan with a great line, too...“Let’s raise our mittens to the winter sky and rejoice in another season of getting after it in the snowy playgrounds of Michigan. Let’s Winter in Pure Michigan.”
