We start off today's snowy parade of critters with a shot that first appeared in 2004, submitted by Kim Beyer. She captured a priceless photo of the expression on her little Yooper when their four-legged friend decided to eat the snowman’s nose.

In the second archive shot was taken in 2014, when a parade of deer crossed Portage Lake in front of Sally Beaudette’s Bootjack home. This photo was actually taken during the tail end of firearm deer season that year, so Sally said she was chuckling that the hunters were in the woods and the deer were out crossing the ice. She did say though, that none of those deer had antlers.

Jenny Fritz snapped this photo of her daughter and their four-legged family member, Ivy, two years ago in 2016. It looks like Ivy is a big tease, stealing Jenny’s daughter’s glove in the hopes that she will give chase to get it back.

The current critter photo was taken by Melanie Hakala Rossi, while she and some friends were snowshoeing with a couple of pups along. When they came across this old farm implement, they knew it was a photo opportunity with Finley sitting pretty on the seat and Vern close by posing handsomely, too. These pups sure have personality.

A fun video today, with an idea for all you folks with four-legged friends, to get them out in the snow and some good exercise for yourself, too. Check out the Snow Maze made by Andrew Himelson for their family pup. Actually it looks and sounds like it was fun for the whole family!

Great set of pictures today ~ especially 2018!
Noticed the little guy is a Detroit Tigers fan.
Here's hoping he'll have a good time watching the
games in 2019.

Andrew got a lot of exercise out of that and did a
'professional' job too! (Is there a profession of
making dog snow mazes?) As the Winter wears on and
the snow piles up Gene won't be able to cheat as
easily!

People and Chickens:
They are a lot alike in that the more you give them, the less likely it is that they'll scratch for themselves.
