From year to year, the weather can be quite different. Our photos here today are good examples of that, starting in 2001 with the sunny, sandy Lake Superior beach scene in the first photo from Steve Brimm and then the contrast of his photo from 2008, with some snow on the ground and the sky and Lake Superior looking more gray than blue. Both scenes beautiful in their own way.
Then Aladino Mandoli snapped another wintry looking scene in 2013. There isn’t much snow in this one, more frosty looking, but I love the splash of red in the small brush there in the middle.
We wrap up today’s photos with one taken this past weekend by Melanie Hakala Rossi when she strapped on her snowshoes and hiked up to check out the view from the Hungarian Falls. That shot is looking toward town and Torch Lake. You know there’s more than a few inches of snow when it’s already snowshoe season.
For a look at the Hungarian Falls, we join Jason Hawke on a trek there in 2017.
