I mentioned “beautiful and wild” on the Pasty Cam page for today’s photos and that’s exactly what you’re getting. The first photo was snapped in 2008, by Joyce Tormala on the shores of Lake Superior. She happened upon these two deer just romping in the Big Lake and got a few photos taken before they spotted her and ran off. What a capture!
The next archive photo is a beauty, showing the peaceful calm of dusk across from the Marquette Ore Docks. Renee Sturos captured this scene back in 2010. We've seen the docks numerous times, but I don't think we've very often caught a glimpse of the surrounding area, especially in the quiet of dusk with everything reflected in the harbor waters.
Then in 2014, Joy Ziemnick was at McLain State Park, watching Lake Superior as she did some rocking and rolling. Joy enjoyed quite an entertaining show with the waves rolling in and creating some amazing splashes on the shoreline.
Don Afman was on hand at the Big Traverse Pier this past month and snapped a wild photo of the Big Lake, again doing her rocking and rolling thing, splashing and pouring water over the irons. You can see one of the Yooper diehard surfers getting ready to jump in to ride those wild waves to shore, too.
Today’s video shows a calm Lake Superior with an unusual swimmer. Adam Greaves spotted this big Whitetail Buck run out of the woods, into the water and start swimming back in 2016. What a neat capture this one is. One that makes you wonder where it was swimming to and why.
