We start our archive journey today, back in 2004, with a shot heading into Rockland, snapped by Z-Man. According to the posts back then, it was identified as St. Paul’s Methodist Church. It sure is a pretty sight as you round this corner, with the leaves just beginning to change in the background.
The next archive shot comes to us from Doug Grusser, who was on his way to the U.P. in 2008 and made a stop in Mackinaw City before heading over the Big Mac. He snapped this colorful fall shot there, with a view of the Gateway to the Upper Peninsula in the background.
For our third archive photo, we land at Whitefish Point with Philip Odum back in 2013. Philip was at the Lighthouse campus at just the right time to capture the full arc of a rainbow. I love how the sky is dark, yet the buildings are illuminated with the sun. I'm guessing this was as the sun was beginning to set.
We’re getting a virtual tour around the Whitefish Point Lighthouse and Museum grounds in today’s video, courtesy of Great Getaways, who published this video in 2014.
