Fall takes on different meanings for different folks and areas. Today’s archive shots and our current photo of the day, give a good look at some of them. Roger Kangas snapped a classic fall shot back in 2003, of several juicy looking apples just waiting to be picked and bitten into. Makes me want to run outside and grab one off our trees...the crunch of biting into an apple fresh off the tree, there’s nothing like it!
In 2004, Joyce Tormala shared a photo that really didn’t scream out “Autumn”, but was unique and interesting, along with being one of my favorites throughout the years. She displays her Lake Superior finds in such a creative way, she not only benefits from the calming effects of picking her treasures on the Big Lake’s shoreline, but then she gets to enjoy them each time she walks by her smiling rock garden. Win/win, if you ask me!
If our third archive shot doesn’t scream out Fall to you, I don’t know what will. This shot from Patty Rheault back in 2016, was taken after her family harvested all the pumpkins from their Bootjack garden. So many varieties, shapes and sizes, some already bright orange and others on their way to becoming pumpkin colored. This reminds me, that it’s time to go see how our pumpkins are progressing.
And last but not least in the photo lineup today, we have a shot that Jean Dessellier took just a couple days ago when checking out the colors in the Twin Lakes area. That’s quite a splash of color, for sure.
We have a video tour of Fall in Upper Michigan for our viewing pleasure today. It was made in 2014 and has a bonus rainbow at the very end. If you can’t get UP North for a fall tour, this is the next best thing!

Beautiful set of pictures ~ nothing better than a
sunny cool Autumn!
Except neither the Wildcats nor the Huskies did well
in football yesterday. The Cats should have had
theirs tho ~ let it get away.
