It’s officially Autumn here UP North now, on the calendar and in the air. I haven’t had the chance to drive around to see how the colors are progressing, but from what I hear, it’s different wherever you go. Back in 2003, the colors were bursting out in a photo snapped by Ed Carter, along the Lac La Belle shoreline.
Then in 2006, Lee Rowe shared this beauty, reflecting trunks and colorful leaves, a neat ripple effect shot of the beauty that Fall brings along with this cooler season.
In 2015, John Dodge sent us a photo from the local group that participated in the World Wide Photo Walk. The Photo Walk is open to shooters of all levels; anyone who owns a camera is welcome. This is about meeting other local photographers and photography enthusiasts, learning and sharing. What a great event to get folks together for a common love of photography.
Today’s current shot comes from Melanie Hakala Rossi, who along with her friend, went exploring in the Keweenaw, to Lost Lake. Once they were there, some fishing was in order. You can see just a hint of color beginning in this photo, but further north in the Keweenaw is usually a little later turning color each year.
Something I’ve always wanted to do is the Circle Tour around Lake Superior. That’s where we’re headed in our video of the day. Enjoy the view!

There is just something about rushing rivers...
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”

A few years back Bob and my brothers did the Circle Tour on motorcycles. It was Epic!
