We’re traveling in the archives again today, with our starting point in the Munising area at Pictured Rocks. Jeff Kalember and his son hiked the Lakeshore Trail back in 2008 and encountered a dramatic falls, cascading over the steep edge of the cliff, called Spray Falls. The lone tree standing on the edge is quite an impressive sight too.

The next two flower shots are from 2013 and 2015 respectively and both snapped by Donna MacIntosh, in and around her home in Baraga. She used a macro lens, in order to get up close without disturbing the butterfly that was snacking on those sunflowers. Then in the third photo, along with the macro lens, Donna did a bit of cropping to get in closer for this heart-shaped pansy. Finding unique beauty here UP North, is something she’s been quite good at through the years as a contributor on the Pasty Cam.

Rock is a small town near Gladstone, in Delta County and is the location for today’s video from TV6 – Fox UP. They featured the Hall Farms in Rock a year ago on their newscast, where this family grows fields of sunflowers. There’s just something about sunflowers that make you smile!

I had such a gorgeous sunflower this year, and I
opened my back blinds the other day, and it was
stripped...all the flowers and all the leaves,
except one...GONE! The deer got all of them.
lol.... I even had a really tiny one, and that was
gone too! Oh well...they plant them. What they
don't eat just may grow!!
