It’s a Lake Superior kind of day, here on the Pasty Cam, both in the archives and the view in our current photo, too. We start our voyage with Thomas Simpson in the Munising area back in 2001, when Miner’s Castle still had two “towers”. That was before erosion toppled one of them into Lake Superior.
Sailing ahead a few years, to 2004, we join Bob Gallun at the Eagle Harbor Beach. It must have been a beautiful day, since there were quite a few folks there enjoying the water and the sandy shore.
In 2010, Amy Cloutier captured two kayakers paddling off into the Sunset on the Big Lake. What a great way to end a beautiful summer day, enjoying the colors the sunset is painting in the sky, while slowly making your way through quiet waters. It really doesn’t get much better than this.
Melanie Hakala Rossi hopped aboard a boat and did some exploring out at Mantiou Island this past weekend. What a neat view of the Manitou Lighthouse there and the rocky shoreline leading up to it. All those rocks surrounding this remote Lake Superior Island, hold a treasure trove of agates I am told. Melanie dug in and brought back a nice collection herself.
To round out our Lake Superior day, we’re taking a tour around Eagle Harbor with Jeff Curto. It’s the next best thing to being there.

Nice pics and video!! I still think a Shark fin anchored out in the water at the Eagle Harbor Beach would be hilarious!!
