Exploring is our archive photo theme today. We begin over on Isle Royale in 2000, with Jon Hopper and his friend James Hackman. They were doing some exploring on the Island and found a natural arch there. I’m not certain of the location, but I do know there is one on Mott Island, maybe this is that one.

Our next explorers are Judy Byykkonen’s Son and Grandson in 2010. After a hike up the hills, they arrived at the lower falls of Hungarian Falls in Tamarack. Always a beautiful spot to explore, no matter the season. It looks like the falls were flowing nicely still, but in the spring is when they really roar!

Quite the daring youngsters in 2012’s photo! Those are Michelle Jeffery’s boys and their cousins. Ten Foot Falls is located on M26 just before Eagle River. It’s a great little falls and just daring enough for kids, yet not too daring for the Mom’s and Dad’s watching.

If you want “daring”, then today’s video is for you. We’re joining Jody Stauber and friends while they do some cliff jumping at Canyon Falls in L’Anse and Dead River Falls in Marquette. Takes my breath away just watching them!

Nice pic's and cool video!! I thought I recognized the Dead River Falls, we did that a few times, very cold and J.D. was involved, oh to be young again, without all the stupid stuff,lol!!

I'm nearly certain that arch is the one on Amygdaloid Island, located near the far northeast tip of Amygdaloid Lake.

I knew of an arch on West Caribou Island which is near Mott Island, but I did not know about one on Mott.
