One again Steve Brimm has captured a unique perspective for our ‘daily glimpse of life in the U.P.’. How many times I have looked at steeples in the Copper Country and wished there was some way to see in 360 to the horizon, imagining how it must have looked ‘back in the day’. Back in 2001 we had a Shoebox Memory of St. Joseph's Church in Lake Linden (from Jim Haralson), then two years later Rick Anderson provided a flyover of the structure. Steve Brimm's video was made - not in Lake Linden - but in Calumet. Some striking similarities...
I noticed one day out on Cliff drive, way up in Keweenaw County, you could see the twin steeples of St Paul the Apostle in Calumet. This was back when we were researching how to bring wireless broadband to Pasty.NET users. In fact, the first link to Mt Horace Greeley was served for several years from the Laurium steeple of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. Another steeple that comes to mind is St. Anne's, in downtown Calumet. It has been a privilege to have access to these historic structures over the years, and to see the Copper Country in a way that few have experienced it.
Thanks to all who visited our booth at Pasty Fest this weekend. Have a good week :o)

I was wondering how Pasty Fest went yesterday! Was the weather good? Hoping all had a good time.

Dramatic video and I wish I could drive it again, Cliff.

Loved the video ...… please can you let us know the title and if possible the choir singing the acapella chant.
Those pictures of Lake Linden are awesome to me. I don't remember seeing this picture of the church before. I love it! Thanks for sharing these.
