Upper Michigan's sky has often been the subject of the Pasty Cam. Like on this day in 1999 when Jonathan got caught in the rain at Eagle Harbor, or Steve Brimm's Aurora Gathering in 2010, or Capt. Paul's Shrouded Moon in 2013. More recently the nighttime beauty of the sky was captured in time lapse by Steve Beukema.
And there's more in store tonight, not only for the U.P. but across North America, we should be able to catch the Perseid meteor shower. Today's posting is coming a little late in the day, as we had a little problem to deal with up at Mount Horace Greely. That's the main hub of Pasty.NET serving Keweenaw County. The old radar building had been broken into by vandals, and we worked with the deputies to help secure the building and restore the disrupted service. The view at Mt. Horace Greeley is spectacular. One of the deputies noted what a great spot it would be to watch the shower ;)
Have a good week :o)

Was just outside looking for Perseids. Probably a
little early, but got to see one nice one streak
down. Set your alarms for 3 am and go out looking
for them!

Another nice set and the video was great. I've never seen the Milky Way in person, maybe someday.
