The archive theme is all about kids today. Animal kids, people kids, Grandkids, kids of all ages enjoying the Upper Peninsula in the summertime. We begin in 2011, with Julie Strieter who was enjoying a boat ride on Mud Lake when she spotted this mother and her twins. Thankful for a good zoom lens, Julie was able to capture this candid shot without disturbing the little family.
Then we join our own, Charlie Hopper in 2013, when his Granddaughters, Kit and Kira were visiting in Eagle River. Look at how sweet they are there balancing on the wall surrounding the Keweenaw County Courthouse, so Grandpa could chronicle their time here in the Copper Country.
Laura Gauthier and her family take us over to Mackinac Island in 2014, where they hopped on bikes and road the 8 miles around the Island. Check out the bike Dad and their youngest are on. What a great invention that is, a smaller bike with one wheel, that hooks to the back of your own bike. No worries that the little guy will be able to keep up with the rest of the gang.
We arrive back here in 2018 at the Tahquamenon Falls with Laurie Bashaw. Those are her handsome Grandsons here in the U.P. for a visit. Laurie and Ed kept them busy exploring places like the Falls here and making priceless memories with family!
A summertime Finnish tradition that attracts kids of all ages, takes place in June, called Juhannus. Check out today’s video to get a better look at how the festivities are celebrated here in the Copper Country.

Wonderful pictures this morning. We
haven't gotten anywhere to take any
pictures except while picking blueberries.
They are plentiful around here right now.
The weather was supposed to be beautiful
while we were here but it just doesn't
want to cooperate when we come UP. We were
going to go swim in the lake today but now
it's raining. Oh well. We'll think of
something. I'm just loving being here.

Excellence once again in today's pix and video! 2011 is precious and reminds me of all the dear I have seen this year here in suburban Troy, MI. I drive to work every day and see them grazing in front lawns without a care in the world. They've lost all fear of people and I say it's time to load up :-)

Laurie should take that same picture every year with
the boys.....and any additional grandchildren. Great
memories. Now run them up to Crisp Point!
