Another day, another set of beautiful pictures from the archives. Today’s trio are all about fishing and kayaking fun. Way back in 2001, Jon Hopper snapped this shot of several fishermen on the shores of Teal Lake in Negaunee. I’m not sure if it was early morning or later in the evening as the sun was going down, but it definitely has a bit of mystery about it.
Another fisherman was captured soaking his fishing line out in Bootjack. His Mom, Danielle Davis snapped this one in 2015. She said it’s not easy to catch any of her boys sitting still for long, but give them a fishing pole and they sit patiently waiting for that tug on the line. They’re pretty serious fishermen.
One year later, in 2016, Eric Stewart was in Eagle Harbor doing some kayaking and he snapped this shot of his wife with the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse and campus in the background. Eagle Harbor is a great place to paddle around and if you’re brave enough, you can go out past the buoy marking the entry into the Harbor and explore around the shoreline, too.
Today’s video is continuing on the fishing theme at Teal Lake. We’re going fishing with Dennis Potter and his family. We’ll catch a few fish and watch them release a couple that his grandkids get to name.
