I think the archives discovered the perfect way to end a workweek...some boating, a little fishing and watching Lake Superior “kick up her heels”. We start out in 2007, with a photo snapped by Z-Man in Ontonagon. Seems like boats in that area come in all sizes. That’s the freighter American Valor crossing paths with a smaller boat in front of the Ontonagon Lighthouse.
Then in 2011, we were out at Rice Lake for the Sportsman’s Club Fishing Derby. Barbara Bouwkamp snapped the second archive shot of some of the fishermen and women trying their luck in boats. Many others lined the shore trying to catch the winning fish.
We head to Marquette for our third archive photo from 2015. Mike Schneider snapped this beauty of Lake Superior at the edge of Presque Isle Park. Big Lake watching is a great way to relax, no matter what the conditions are, but a day like this one with blue sky, clouds and the blue-green tint in the rolling water, is about as close to perfection as anyone gets.
In case you haven’t been fishing in a while, the Pasty Cam is going out with Josh Stein somewhere in the Keweenaw. Keep your eyes peeled, as they also spot something you don’t always see swimming along.

That third pic is beautiful and brings back the memories! Josh is quite the outdoorsman & realtor, I follow him on his journal daily.

Love the freighter in that first picture. And fishing is definitely our favorite summertime pastime. What a calming thing to do. It's a great way to destress.

I click on "you tube" at the bottom of the video and go to the you tube page to watch. After the pike fishing vid, there was one where Josh bagged a huge 11 point buck with a cross bow. Wow. I'm impressed...this is a young man who knows his stuff. Way to go!
