Another archive mixture, along with a current shot, too. We begin in 2006, with Frank Anderson at the Straits of Mackinac. This view of the Mackinac Bridge all lit up at night is a beauty, for sure. It’s something you don’t see as you’re driving over it, but once across, if you stop for a look, you get the whole picture.
Our next stop is at the Lake Linden Park back in 2008. This is the Veteran’s Memorial with an inscribed stone that says: In Honor of All Those Who Served Our Country. A place where our little town shows how important we think our Veterans are.
We head to the Bessemer/Ironwood area for a look at the Rainbow Falls along the Black River in Gogebic County, with E. Neil Harri in 2009. Such a different perspective we get from viewing these falls from the air, it’s sometimes hard to identify exactly what you’re seeing down there.
Danielle Adams snapped our current photo at Ellwood A Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette earlier this week. That’s the US Coast Guard Cutter Alder who is on its annual spring mission of setting the buoys back in Lake Superior. They were also in the Houghton area on Thursday of this week with the same project. I guess that means Spring has officially arrived!
Today’s video takes us to the ground level of the Rainbow Falls on the Black River, so we can see what they look like at eye level, too. We’re even treated to a rainbow on the Rainbow Falls. I guess maybe that’s where its name comes from!

From Danielle's picture it looks like all that ice is gone around Marquette!

Nice pics today!
Looking back through the archives, I see back in 2011 that large Northern that Bob Gilreath landed and thinking Nat and I will be UP trying our luck in a few weeks.
Graduates.. Dr. Seuss once said in the book “Oh, the Place You’ll Go!”, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose."

And even those who don't have feet can go far!

I have some videos of the various waterfalls along Black River Road from last summer. I need to post them on my youtube channel.
