We’re touring today in the Pasty Cam archives, starting way back in 2001, with our very own Webmaster, Charlie Hopper. He snapped the Kearsarge sunset photo while driving home from Calumet to Eagle River. He said they (Edie and him) spotted the sky looking like it was on fire and stopped near the Hut to snap this picture. Pretty neat with the silhouette of the mine shaft!
The next stop is with Joe Kirkish in 2011, also as the sun was setting, only Joe was in Calumet and caught the skyline with the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church steeples as his silhouettes. Another great capture, for sure!
We’re still touring with Joe Kirkish for our third photo, all the way out to the Freda area, where Joe had taken a Finnish student that spent three months at Finlandia, to check out the Covered Road. Fun that Joe captured Olli, as he was capturing the long, straight, leafless roadway ahead of them back in 2013.
To go along with our touring theme today, we’re with Kd Shroeder in the Keweenaw, checking out two area Copper Mines and the Calumet Colosseum. Enjoy!

Wow, I had forgotten taking that top picture. The silhouetted mine building is the Centennial #6 shafthouse. The camera used was an old Kodak DC260, which had almost been destroyed when the original Pasty Camist fell on it, up on Bumbletown Hill (that was our son Jonathan). A warm memory of the unique blend of beauty and history we've experienced the last 3 decades of living in the Copper Country.

Nice, indeed! 2013 looks like the first bumper-mounted GoPro camera.
