It’s a water filled day here on the Pasty Cam, beginning on the North Country Trail in the Porcupine Mountains where we find ourselves on the Little Carp River with Nate Alwine. This photo was snapped on the four day hike that Nate and some friends took back in 2006.
The remaining shots are all waterfalls! In 2010, Steve Bashaw (RIP), took us to the Black River Falls in the Ishpeming area. It looks like someone cut a path right through the rocks, so the water can rush down the 30 ft. drop, along with a few tree trunks, too. Can’t you just hear the water rushing over?
The next waterfall was snapped by Carolyn Williams in 2016, of the Wyandotte Falls. Carolyn said this falls is accessed from Wyandotte Golf Course Road in Twin Lakes. The road turns to dirt past the garage for the golf carts and there is a parking area off to the right. You'll see a small trial sign to the left of the road and the falls are back in the woods from there. She added that it's quite pretty and a really peaceful spot.
Which brings us to an unnamed falls behind the Hubbell/Tamarack area. Melanie Hakala Rossi and friends found this falls and named it Hemlock Falls for the beautiful Hemlock trees along the hike to get there. She said it’s in a deep ravine with about a mile hike through the woods. What a great discovery!
We’re going back to Ishpeming for our video today, so you can see and hear the Black River Falls in action. The video is courtesy of Michigan Interactive and Fishweb.com.

I never tire of seeing and hearing waterfalls. My favorite picture today is Hemlock Falls. It looks like a gentle waterfalls with serene surroundings. I really enjoyed the video it was spellbinding. I thought the music detracted from rather than added to it though.

How lovely to see and hear the Black River Falls. It's just down the road from our family's camp. Anxious to see my summer stomping grounds next week!

Okay. If Ron's knee heals good by then, that's where we're headed. Pictured Rocks is first on our list this year.
