Another week begins here on the Pasty Cam, with a look back into the archive of photos over the past 20 years. We get a glimpse of the Houghton/Hancock night life from Michigan Tech, back in 2003, with Taka Aoki. This shot has everything sparkling as night begins.
Back in 2001, Chris Koskiniemi snapped a shot of The Keweenaw Star when it was still sailing the waters of the Portage Canal, taking folks on tours around the area. I’m not quite sure where she ended up, but I know the boat was sold and went south for other adventures.
Joe Kirkish found serenity and beauty at his cottage on the Lake Superior shores in 2015. He found all the ice melted and the sun glistening on the water. It looks so pretty with the trees just beginning to green up that year. We’re not quite to that point this year, but the buds are sprouting fast and before you know it, everything will be looking lush and green again.
We’re going on a Boatnerd excursion to check out lighthouses from Lake Michigan, the Straits of Mackinac and the St. Mary’s River, today. Enjoy the tour!
