Our archive photos today, take us from the Straits of Mackinac, to Eagle River, so it pretty much spans from the south to north. We start in Mackinaw City back in 2007, with a view snapped by Paul Roberts of the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse with a peek at the Mackinac Bridge in the background, too. Two Michigan landmarks for the snap of one!
We head on up to the Keweenaw with Lindsay Butala for our next archive shot from 2013. She made a visit to the Eagle River Falls, to find them still snow covered on the edges, but flowing quite well, melting some of the snow as the water flows down.
Back to Houghton for our third archive photo, from Eric Pohl in 2015. He was on hand capturing photos from the Michigan Tech Senior Walk event that year and snapped this interesting view of the Portage Lift Bridge, from the Veteran’s Park overlooking it. Kind of a neat view, looking up the barrel of the park’s cannon.
We head back to Eagle River for our video clip today, with non-other than our Webmaster, Charlie Hopper himself. He and Edie were on the footbridge there, checking out the falls in all their glory, back in the Spring of 2014. Nice to see the falls in action and also get a glimpse of Edie again.

Rivers and the inhabitants of the watery element, were made for wise men to contemplate, and for fools to pass by without consideration.
In honor of Edie, I name this video..."Beauty and the beast."

I can honestly say I have never seen the Eagle River Falls running like that. But I sure would love to. Maybe some day! Love the first picture of the lighthouse and the bridge!
