Looking back into the past 20 years of archive photos on this day, there were a few critter photos, starting with a photo that Jamie Harter snapped on her way to work in 2009. She encountered several cattle on the Rice Lake Road, looking at her like they were wondering what she was doing in their way. Not your usual animal spotting on the highway.
Then in 2011, Amanda Cadwell shared a photo from what her and her friends figured was one of their last winter horse back riding adventures that year. The temps were warming and the snow was melting fast at this point.
At first glance you don’t notice the critter in Kelly Sullivan’s 2014 photo, but after a closer look you’ll see a raccoon peeking out at you from behind the tree he’s climbing. He kept behind the whole time she was snapping photos of him, just peeking out a bit more each time.
Raccoons find the darnedest places to call home. In today’s video you’ll see a little family of them “holed” up in a Cottonwood Tree that was their “home, sweet home”. Those little bandit faces are sure to make you smile, whether you like raccoons or not. And a shout-out to all the pasty-lovers we’ve served in Kansas zip codes, where today’s video originates
P.S. Holy Cow, I almost forgot. It's someone's birthday here at Pasty Central today...
Happy Birthday Charlie!
