From the very beginning of the Pasty Cam we've kept an eye on gas prices, as Jonathan was using quite a bit of it back-and-forth to MTU from Eagle River each weekday. On one sunny day in 1999 he found himself in Ontonagon, where he captured proof that prices were actually less than a dollar a gallon. Just a few years ago, prices at that very station went over $4/gallon with some refinery problems south of the U.P. (and just about EVERYTHING is south of the U.P.). The channel 7 video recounts those pricey days.

It looks like perhaps the single digit/sub-zero temps may finally be behind us in the U.P. Can Spring finally be on the way?

Have a good week.

Let's hope the temperatures go up and the gas prices
go down!

Go Spartans!

When I was young the gas prices didn't change nearly as much as they do today. Greed is the prime mover of the capitalistic system.
I have the Spartans to win the tournament. I think they are the best team in the tourney but they don't always play like the best team.

I also have the Spartans to win the tourney.
You can never count a Tom Izzo team out. I have
the Wolverines in the final game with them but
don't think they could beat them twice in a row
like. How I hope my picks come tru.

The temps were in the 50's here yesterday. It
was so nice to go out with just a sweatshirt on.
And yes to the gas prices going down and the
temperatures going up.

Happy Sunday!

I'm cheering for Michigan State too.

So long Sparty:(

Killer game.

Neither game went the right way today.

Scary video, but I really can't recall the prices spiking like that. Perhaps that took place when I was in the hospital jacked up on Norco with an MS flare-up. That was August of 2016.
The anchor woman in the video is JoAnne Purtan, daughter of the now retired Detroit radio icon, Dick Purtan. Unfortunately, she's leaving too.
