Today’s archive theme is plain and simple... winter fun here in the U.P. We start with a photo from Nate Alwine back in 2005. He was out cross country skiing with friends in the Fumee Lake area of Iron Mountain/ Norway.

Then in 2014, Jeff Kalember took us all for a snowshoe hike to the Hungarian Falls in the Tamarack City area. Looks like we may have had a snowy day around that time, unlike the past week this year, with plenty of sunshine and warmer temps for a change.

The third photo from Kassy Kallio is one of my favorites and shows that fun times in the snow doesn’t have to be elaborate, it can just simply be sledding for kiddos like her two pictured here in 2016. Those upside down smiles tell the story, along with the snowy-looking snowsuits.

For our video feature today, we’re heading to the western U.P., in Ironwood, for some Blackjack Mountain skiing fun. This is Pure Michigan fun for sure, recorded just about a year ago.

This is the time of year you start thinking "the time
to enjoy Winter is getting short!" And then your
next thought is "at least i hope so"!!!

This is my favorite time of year...meteorological spring is here and lots of dry pavement ahead.

Rolling thunder and flashing lightning
Are things that I found very frightening
So I loved winter and the snow.........
But that was many years ago.

According to the counter there are only 140 to go

Since this week is 'sold out' does that mean by the
end of the day tomorrow (or even today?) that
1,000,000 mark will be reached?

What fun winter pics! Get out there and enjoy the
snow and winter seems a lot shorter!

Winter is not my thing. But as I've said many times, it makes for some gorgeous pictures! We are having yet another storm which started on Sunday morning with rain and thunder. Overnight it turned to snow and it just keeps coming. This is very unusual for us. But at least with the snow, it's not so darn cold.
