Already two months into 2018, which means that we pause today to remember those loved ones and friends that have gone on before us. Today we hold these folks in our thoughts:

Our apologies for the late Pasty Cam today. As you may have noticed if your browsed around here earlier, pasty.com was down for much of the day. We were beginning to think we would miss posting before midnight, which would have been the first time in 20 years.

My thoughts are with the family and friends of John Niemela, who was at one time a Pasty Central staff member. John had battles with physical problems, and stayed at Beacon House when my late wife and I were making trips there for her treatments a few years back. RIP John my friend.

And a personal side note: after almost two years of being a widower, I have married my high school sweetheart Debbie Lee. Debbie accompanied me to our server facility in Marquette today to do repairs. Thanks to help from her and our Systems Administrator Jonathan (my son), we got the Pasty Cam back 'on the air' to begin year 21 :o)

1. It certainly looked like much of the Copper Country had a 24-hour doozy of a power outage, at least from the look of the UPPCO outage map that I was looking at last night!

Congratulations Charlie and Debbie. I also married my high school sweetheart, 8 years ago, 38 years after we graduated. Had our first vacation together in the Copper Country last fall.

Jimmy Stevens who grew up by St Joseph Church? I
had the hugest crush on him when I was in grade
school. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of
those who have lost somebody in the month of
