A little follow up to the Polar Bear video last week - some of the frivolity surrounding that annual celebration known as Heikinpäivä.

In 2001 Daryl Laitila captured the old farmer at work with his snow plow invention. In 2003 it was Z-Man who immortalized Superman's landing in Hancock, and in 2008 Taka Aoki gave us a more refined view of Quincy, which sits on the hill above it all.

What fun we've had over the years, just trying to thrive while we survive the long, cold winters here in the U.P...

weather? And Sam Bauman...did the news....Neither
are here anymore...but thanks to Facebook....I sent
them the link to the video with them jumping in for
the Polar Plunge! Shawn said "Something snapped in
me...I've taken cold showers
since". hahahhaa....Sam said it didn't hit him
that hard!
