If you read the lead in on the Pasty Cam page with the teaser photo/video, then you already have an idea what today's archive theme is…it's "glowing". Indeed we've got a certain glow about us here today on the Pasty Cam, beginning with a photo taken by Aladino Mandoli back in 2007. Dino snapped this photo in Marquette County, of the sunrise on Dead River. I love the sun's rays peeking through the trees and lighting up the frozen river. So beautiful!
Our next glow comes to us from Peg Hardt who captured the sun setting in 2009. It sure lit up the horizon as it was going down and then reflected on the frozen lake below. Another beauty created by the sun.
Then on an early morning drive to Marquette in 2015, Lindsay White spotted a Sundog and had to stop to capture the moment in time. What a beautiful phenomenon created by the sun and ice crystals in the air. Outstanding!
Just in case you'd like a more in depth explanation about Sundogs and Sun Halos, we have a video here today that explains how these form and appear before our eyes. Click on the video to find out more...

At this time of year, I'm just happy to see the sun. Only 34 more days till pitchers and catchers report for spring training for the Tigers.

Nice pictures today of the sun practicing shining. I like the first picture. Speaking of the Tigers there will be a lot of new names on the roster this season. I will consider the season a success if they stay under 100 losses.

We saw a couple of Sundogs when we were in the Copper Country visiting relatives at Christmas. Thanks for the special videos today- -a good refresher.
