Today's archive theme is "things we do in the snow UP North". We start with a shot snapped in 2009, by Bruce Watters. His son and a younger cousin (peeking out) built this igloo and were enjoying their hard work. What about the vintage 1971 Skidoo Elan parked out front? I wonder if they made a garage to house their ride, too!
Barb Bouwkamp was out and about in Laurium in 2015, checking out how high the snowbanks had gotten. I'm not sure how tall Barb is, but that snowbank she's standing in front of is quite a bit over her head and just think, we still had a couple more months of winter UP here that year.
Then last year in 2017 on this date we had a Shoebox Memory from 16 years ago (17 now), snapped by Josh Stone. He captured Paul Roberts' graceful dismount after a hard day’s work on a snow-covered U.P. roof.
Today's video clip was recorded a few years ago in the Keweenaw as the Village SnoGo cut the snowbanks back to widen the streets. If you look back at the second photo here today, that's how those tall snowbanks were "cut" back in 2015, too.
