It’s another all around the U.P. day here on the Pasty Cam, both in the archive and a current shot, too. We start out in 2002, with Donn de Yampert photographing a group of folks out on a frozen Portage Canal in Houghton. He took this shot from a Mich. Tech parking lot and said that he stopped when he spotted two small children on their bellies, with several folks running out on the ice to them. He thought they had fallen through the ice but that wasn’t the case, thankfully. Donn added that it’s still a bad idea to go out on the ice. I agree...
In 2008, Art Brabbs was in Harvey, just outside of Marquette, when he spotted this giant snowman outside the Marquette Motorlodge. He was standing there, 20 feet tall, ready to welcome anyone who stopped by.
Plenty of white, fluffy snow in 2015, but that didn’t stop Beth Jukuri from getting out in the woods for a snowshoe trek. This was the scene she came upon on her way back, looking at her homestead beyond the snow covered branches.
This year’s current photo is so similar to the previous photo, they could have been taken on the same day, not two years apart. Judy Byykkonen took this one in Traprock Valley while she was out snowshoeing on Wednesday. We’ve been getting “feet” of snow over this past week and as of Wednesday, the total snowfall in the Keweenaw this season is at 113 inches. Most of which fell in the past two weeks.
We’re going snowshoeing in our feature video today, too, tagging along on a trek around a frozen Echo Lake in the Huron Mountain Range area. This one made me wish I was actually there with them!

In case anyone missed the Christmas outing for Marquette's Surfer Dan. Make sure to click the "center 12" for the full gallery of action shots.
Seems like a lot of people lost interest in Pasty Net when they did away with the discussion page.

Dave, I've always viewed things as if the 2 previous pages were combined into 1. I do try to keep my comments somewhat on topic with the day's photo theme though.
