On this 2017 Thanksgiving Day, we here at Pasty Central wish everyone a very Blessed Thanksgiving. No matter what is going on in your life, there is always something to be thankful for. In our look back into the archives today, we go way back with Robert Torreano. I’m not sure of the year, but check out the amount of snow that accumulated. I’m assuming this was taken later in the winter, though. Looks like a “digging out” year.
Our next shot was snapped by Chad Johnson in 2012. Doesn’t look like it was a snowy day, just a foggy morning sunrise, framed by the Quincy Mine Shaft. This is one of those things we have to be thankful for... the beauty surrounding us here UP North.
In 2015, we were still waiting for snow to arrive on this date, so Sharon Bodenus shared an end of Autumn photo with us all. Simple beauty in the waning fall days.
Things are a bit different this year, we have snow on the ground here in the Keweenaw. Joe Kirkish took a ride to his cottage in the Copper Harbor area, with a stop at Esrey Park for a look. He captured the steps there covered in white. With the sunshine that day, it almost seems like they’re glowing in between the shadows.
We’re taking an aerial adventure over Quincy Hill for our video today, recorded in 2016, when the snow was in full force and covering the ground. So neat to see from the air where we live and play.
Happy Thanksgiving
