Fall here in the U.P. is a time for fun things like corn mazes, picking out pumpkins, hay rides and checking out the colorful leaves as they're changing. Back in the archives of the pasty 19 years of photos, there were a number of signs that indicated that fall was here on this day throughout the years. Starting in 2004, Brian Thomas spotted a sure sign that fall was upon us, with this large flock of geese taking a break from their migration route, in a pond here in the Keweenaw.
Robert C. Wetton found another sure sign that fall had arrived back in 2007, when he went to get his dogs groomed and snapped the second photo of the pumpkins for sale at the Somero Farm near Dollar Bay. Looks like they had a good beginning for a pumpkin patch.
The surest sign that fall is here, though, is the changing color of the leaves and Judy Byykkonen photographed that quite well back in 2012, near her home in Traprock Valley. The colors she captured on that hillside are truly outstanding.
We have another video from TV6 today, with a visit to the Hayes Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Rock, MI. It sure looks like a fun place to spend a great fall day!

Nice fall pictures. Judy really captured the beauty surrounding her home in 2012. So gorgeous! Lots of corn mazes around here right now, too. So much fun for kids and adults alike. The one in the video really looks like fun!

Looks like fun and not to be pessimistic, but I always wonder about one of those round bales rolling on onto a child. Wouldn't square ones be safer?

Great fall pictures today. I will begrudgingly admit that the things that fall brings are, for the most part, pleasing to the eye and ear. It is the last month of the year that I can describe the weather without resorting to profanity.
