Today is the first day of Fall and looking back at the past 19 years of photos in the archives shows off the fall colors quite well. Back in 2001, Jonathan Hopper was at the Somero Farm checking out their pumpkin harvest and corn stalk decorations. That shot is definitely the picture of Fall.
Then in 2006, Joyce Tormala was heading out to Agate Beach when she saw the burst of color in the second photo, so she stopped to capture it and share with all of us. Beautiful, indeed!
Jump ahead to 2014, with a shot from Beth Jukuri on her mail route that takes her from Chassell to Tapiola daily. She gets to view the changing colors on those rural roads, watching them transform from day to day. I love the blend of hues in these leaves she photographed.
To celebrate the first day of Autumn, we're going on a Copper Country color cycling tour covering 100k of the Keweenaw in just over five minutes. No pedaling involved.

A great little video. It felt like being a kid again, in the ups-and-downs of trails in the woods. And pleasant music to start the morning.

1st day of Autumn and it's suppose to hit 90* today in SE-MI. Will have to check-out the video later, it's beginning to ramp-up around here with Oct. 15th looming on the horizon...procrastinatorville.

Such a beautiful time of year. There's no such thing as a bad picture! Awesome!

Great video ~ and responsible bikers, riding in single file rather that taking up the whole lane. Enjoyed their tour!

Alex, c'mon, the first day of fall is the day after Labor Day (just like when we were kids).
But I agree that the temperatures are not right for September in Michigan. It seems odd to have less daylight/shorter evenings when the temperatures say midsummer.
