The U.P. is known for the beautiful views that can be found almost everywhere and our past 19 years of photos on the Pasty Cam definitely supports that. Back in 2005, Aimee Rathbun was out at Isle Royale National Park and shared this view with us. That shadow of land off in the distance is Thunder Bay, Canada. From just about all points on the Island, you'll find something beautiful to behold.
The next beauty of a view comes to us from Shawn Malone of Lake Superior Photo. In 2007, she was up in Copper Harbor and snapped this amazing shot of a freighter out on Lake Superior, just passing by the Copper Harbor Lighthouse. As if that wasn't a good enough scene to capture, she did it with the sun setting, turning the surrounding skies a golden hue.
We jump ahead to here and now, with a view that Laurie Bashaw and her hubby, Ed took in while hiking in the Marquette area. She said they started their hike at Wetmore Landing, walking along Lake Superior towards Little Presque Isle Point. Then they followed a trail out to cross County Road 550, and headed toward Harlow Lake. From there they hiked up and up and just when they thought they were at the top, nope…more climbing, but Laurie said the views along the way were amazing!
Since I've never explored the Wetmore Landing area, I thought it would be fun to at least do so in today's video. Watching and listening to the sounds, it made me feel like I was on a tropical beach somewhere. And to think that's all within our reach here in the U.P., each and every day. Upper Michigan truly is someplace special.

Nice outdoor pix and the video looks like a good place to get more wet, if you're in the mood to get wet more.
