How I love this time of year! The hot muggy days of summer give way to cool air and (soon) changing colors, a great season to be in the woods. Several of our 19 year review pictures have to do with logging, or specifically, "making wood" in preparation for winter. So I popped over to Youtube and entered "Chopping wood in Upper Michigan". I've seen this tongue-in-cheek minute report several times, and always have to laugh when Jim talks about the woods growing back :o)
Our thoughts are with so many snowbirds who may have recently returned from the U.P. to Florida, just to be chased back up north to get away from Irma. As I type these words, 150 mph winds are pounding the Keys, as Irma works her way up the middle of that southern-most peninsula of the U.S. Best wishes for your safety from those of us in this peninsula on the other edge of America.
I just love that 2nd picture, for some reason. That video makes our little wood pile pale in comparison. But we do have one for our fire pit. Still more dead trees to cut down this fall. As must as I hate seeing summer nearly gone, I am enjoying the fall weather also. But summer could last another month or two for me.
Happy Sunday, everybody!

The picture taken at sunset with the golden glow just takes me back to years gone by. Happy times when life seemed to be simpler.

Nice pix! It seems like we have been watching hurricane destruction week after week and my mother mentioned over the weekend about how relatively calm the State of MI is, weather-wise. No hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.
