Some days during the past 19 years of the Pasty Cam, it has looked like an animal story, with critters of all different kinds. Such was the case in the archives for today, only it wasn't "all different kinds" it was a series of bird photos, starting with an outstanding shot of a Northern Harrier Hawk from Fred Koski. That bird looks downright menacing and like it's looking right at Fred's camera, ready to attack.

Then in 2010, Laurie Bashaw was at the DeYoung Family Zoo in the Wallace area, showing her Grandkids some exotic looking geese that roam around while you're checking out the other animals they have there. Fun family time!

And last, but not least, a shot that Deb and Ron Simons snapped while they were in the Keweenaw visiting recently. That's the break wall out at White City in the Jacobsville area that leads out to the Keweenaw Waterway Lower Entrance Light. Check out all those seagulls standing there on the wall. Not only that, but notice the water... quite choppy on the left side and calmer on the right. The break wall is doing what it's supposed to be doing, breaking the waves.

Our video feature today, takes us to the DeYoung Zoo, for a look at some of the other animals waiting there for you to visit. Up close and personal with a few of them, you almost feel like reaching through the screen to pat their nose!

Nice array of animals. The DeYoung zoo is another place I haven't visited.
Looking at the front view of the Harrier Hawk makes it easy to understand why they named the Harrier Jump Jet Harrier.

I haven't been to that zoo either. I think of
all the zoos I've been to, I like the Milwaukee
Zoo the best. However, it's been years since
I've been there.

I love the picture that we took of the breakwall
for the exact reasont that Mary gave. It was so
cool seeing how choppy the water was until it
hit the wall. We got a picture something like
that a couple of years ago at the North Entry
also. It was fun knowing that the day before,
we had been across the bay over in L'Anse and
the mouth of the Huron River. The beach over
there was so cool with all the driftwood and the
different colors from the river to the water.
Always a different look, depending on where you
are UP there. It's a lot like that out here in
MN on the North Shore too, but you don't see
very much of the nice white sand that you do in
MI.

Thanks for showing some of the pictures we took
while there, Mary. It was fun to go to
different places for a change. We had a blast
exploring.
