Recently on the day when we featured eclipse photos, one of the 'review' pictures was passed over that day, but I've included them here with one of my all-time favorite Pasty Cam shots. The Gull Rock sunrise by Alex Protzel (featured on this day in 2000) was among our first 'guest photos' on the Pasty Cam. Most of them to that point had been taken by my son Jonathan, including the double-view pair with Andy Ewert at the helm of the motor boat. The video from Tiger Holm is from the shore looking toward the lighthouse.
To put in perspective how long ago all of these pictures appeared on the Pasty Cam, it was before either Jonathan or Andy were married (and maybe even Alex and Tiger). In fact, I'm sure there are kids who were toddlers in the summer of 2000 who got married this summer. I have four granddaughters who weren't around back then. And who would have guessed, 17 years later, we'd be taking photos (and movies) with our phones??
