Looking back on September 1st in the archives, there was a common thread showing pictures that indicate the beginning of Fall. Starting in 2008, with an aerial view from E. Neil Harri, of the Michigan Tech Huskies football field in Houghton. They installed artificial turf over the summer of that year, consisting of a synthetic grass system with sand and rubber infill, called Prograss. Nice job on the graphics, too!
The next Fall reminder comes from Nancy Nelson, back in 2011. Leaves are beginning to change here and there throughout the Copper Country, not quite as colorful as Nancy's shot, though. This photo was actually the featured photo for September in our 2011 Pasty Cam Calendar.
The third photo was snapped by Eric Stewart, back in 2014. He was UP in the Harbor area and snapped this photo of the Copper Harbor Lighthouse and grounds surrounded in fog. A sure sign that Fall is arriving, cooler air temperatures producing foggy mornings.
We started today with Huskies Football and we're finishing it at MTU, too. Our video feature takes us to a football Saturday with the MTU Pep Band a year ago this time of year, in 2016. Let the band's "PEP" carry you along. Go Huskies!

Photo #2, "2011: Beginnings of Fall" or perhaps "Beginning to fall"? 😉

I really like the picture of the old shed that is losing it's fight with gravity. I think it is a building that would have a lot of interesting stories to tell.

I agree about the stories to tell! How many decades did it stand straight before the foundation started to give way?
