All of us here at Pasty Central, extend our deepest sympathy to all those who have lost someone special in their lives. Please feel free to list the names of those you'd also like to remember on these pages.
Our 2013 archive sunset is by Ron Anderson and the 2017 photo was snapped by Joy Ziemnick. Special thanks to both of them for their beautiful photos to remember our loved ones and friends with.

One of those honored in today's memorial had an important role at the beginning of this website, even before the Pasty Cam began. Over 21 years ago, in the summer of 1996, while making a video of "pasty day" at Still Waters - a home for the aged in Calumet - this frame was captured:
Dolly Johnson was the Activities Director of Still Waters, and that day the activity for the elderly residents was one they really enjoyed: peeling veggies for their pasties. Dolly supervised that crew, and later we posted several frame captures of the video on our brand new website "pasty.com". To our surprise, people began emailing, asking if they could buy some of those pasties. Thus, Pasty Central was born. We began shipping pasties in August of 1996. The success of that launch was due to the enthusiasm and energy of Dolly and the other staff members and residents of the home. Here we are almost a million pasties later, as we bid farewell to our dear friend and co-worker, Viola "Dolly" Johnson.
