So many places to see, so little time. That's why the Pasty Cam archives from the past 19 years is so valuable, we can travel to some of the popular U.P. spots in a matter of a few minutes. Our tour today starts in the Ontonagon area with a look at one of Dan Urbanski's beautiful captures at the Lake of the Clouds that was featured in 2004. This shot illustrates the chosen name for this lake quite well.
We head east to Marquette in the next photo, snapped by Aladino Mandoli in 2005. That's the view from Hogsback Mountain, one of the southernmost peaks of the Huron Mountain Range, with an outstanding view of Lake Superior and her surrounding lands.
Continuing eastward, we stop at the Tahquamenon Falls, where the water was running over so swiftly, you could feel the spray from the observation deck. That was my first time visiting the falls and park near Paradise, just last year in 2016.
Our last and current photo brings us back west in the U.P. again, to Marquette. Sharon Bodenus takes us out to Presque Isle Park with a look at the break wall and light there, on a recent windy day. Check out the wave action and splash against the wall!
Pictures don't always tell the complete story, as in the case of the Tahquamenon Falls shot today. The featured video gives you "the rest of the story", with the amazing sound of the rushing water and the birds chirping away. What treasures the U.P. holds!

Hi I have the 2004 picture as one of my wallpaper options. Simply beautiful.
I've never been to the Marquette sites, looks like I'm missing out.

What spectacular pictures and video today. Love each and every one of them.
Question for you pasty peeps. Would love some ideas of the very best places to see in the Baraga/L'Anse area. While we're UP there, we're thinking about taking a ride that way to spend the day exploring. Thanks!!

Deb --
Near L'Anse, I'd recommend heading northeast to check out Point Abbaye, Huron Bay, and the Mouth of the Huron River.
Wherever you go, have an awesome time!

Deb,
The Silver River is just full of falls and rapids. Some are an easy walk. Last year I tried to find the old slate quarry. Now that I have the GPS coordinates and my new 4x4, I'll be there next month I hope. When you're done exploring you can go for pizza and bowling at the Whirl-I-Gig.
