There was a common thread in today's archive of photos…swimming. Some jumpers, some in pool water and some racing off, just barely touching the water's surface. In the first photo, snapped by Jon Hopper, the original Pasty Camist, two of his friends are in rare form with him over at Isle Royale for his bachelor party in 2002... shortly before he tied the knot. I wonder if this was a subliminal message about taking the plunge!
The second photo appeared on the Pasty Cam in 2005, shared by Jan Dahlquist. That's Jan on the edge of the Grand Hotel swimming pool. In 1947, the year before this photo was taken, Esther Williams and Jimmy Durante were there at the Grand Hotel, filming a movie they were in, with some of the scenes taking place in the 500,000 gallon Esther Williams pool.
Look at those ducks go, in the third shot, snapped by George Hoyem in 2012. They sure look like they're in a hurry to either get away from something or they're anxious to get where they're going. With all the water splashing, they sure are making a ruckus in the water.
Our video today, takes us back to the Grand Hotel a little over a year ago. The aerial drone tour even flies us over the "famous" pool there on the grounds. I wonder if Jan, Esther or Jimmy ever dreamed that there would be flying objects with cameras that could take video like this.

Nice set of pictures, and the video of the Grand Hotel was great. I enjoy the drone's view of things. I went to the buffet brunch at the Grand Hotel once upon a time. It was impressive. The buffet table was so long I don't think I could run from one end of it to the other. I worked with the jumper in the blue trunks when he worked on Isle Royale.
