Back in 2009, we visited The Green Camp with Ashley Byykkonen, where her family has been renting a cottage out in Bootjack since she was just a little girl. The first two photos today were taken back then, showing the sign on the Bootjack road and the camp where so many family memories have been made. Sure looks like a peaceful way to spend some time in the summer.

Fast forward to 2017, this week and we're taken back to The Green Camp by Ashley's Mom, Judy Byykkonen. Their family has been staying there this past week, making more memories with all the little additions and friends that come and join them there. One of their favorite times while staying there in Bootjack, is the beautiful sunsets they get to see almost every evening. Stunning, to say the least.
That's Judy and Ashley in the bottom photo, standing by the roadside sign that marks the spot for their family Green time together. Put all those cares and worries aside and relax on the shores of Portage Lake…it doesn't get much better than this folks.

Today's video excursion was filmed in the Bootjack area and a bit beyond, back in 2007. The slideshow chronicles another family's vacation here in the Keweenaw. So much fun!

Off topic (as usual), but have you noticed that all you need to grow healthy, vigorous grass is a crack in your sidewalk?

They have so much fun at the Green Camp. And yes,
