Small critters, big critters and critters in between. There have been many animal shots in the past 19 years, but for some reason, today's archive of daily photos has more than a few, so it made sense to go with animals today. We start back in 2002, with an outstanding shot of a frog the Dan Urbanski captured while on Isle Royale. He reported it was a wet week back then, too.
I think the second shot is one of my favorites, from Robert C. Wetton (better known here as RCW), back in 2007. That's Daisy, the wonder dog, enjoying some tubing time at their Bootjack cottage. That's quite a balancing act for Daisy to stay upright and afloat out there!
Then in 2009, Doug Grusser snapped a shot of this dark haired fellow coming for dinner over in Big Bay. He sure looks hungry and quite determined to get at the bird feeders Doug had in the back yard. He did get a hold of one, but Doug figures since it was only a $2 feeder, it was worth losing it for the photos he was able to snap.
We started today at Isle Royale and were finishing the photos there, too. And the critters started small, but have increased in size, to the large moose that Pam Heide-Olgren saw over on Isle Royale this week. She was thrilled to have captured a shot of this moose so close.
Since we're in an animal kind of mood here today, I thought you might enjoy watching Dixie and Waylon swimming and fetching in Lake Superior. Well actually, Dixie does all the swimming and fetching and Waylon takes the credit right at the end. Too funny!

Nice diverse representatives of the animal world today. That bear definitely looks like it is on a mission.

Hi From her expression and posture, I don't think Daisy is enjoying being on the inner tube. More like, "My human wants me to do this so I will".
