In the past 19 years of the Pasty Cam, we've shared photos of people engaged in various activities here UP North... sometimes they're quite daring, other times they're quite talented and still other times they're checking out amazing views. We have a set of photos today to illustrate what I mean.
Starting back in 2002, Robert C. Wetton captured a colorful para-sailor flying high over Point Mills Shores. Both scenic and daring! If you're unfamiliar with the location, it's across Portage Lake from Dreamland out in Bootjack and you get there by car from Dollar Bay.
Jump forward one year to 2003 when we featured an "oldie" from Susan Kokko Uren. That's the Finnish Gymnastics Club of South Range, Michigan, both daring and talented! Susan thought the photo was taken between 1910 and 1920. These acrobats are standing in front of the Saima Hall in South Range, which is presently where the Village garage is located.
Our current shot for today was snapped by Brita Haapala this past weekend. She said the scenery was quite breathtaking Sunday evening with a fog bank hanging low over Lake Superior and creeping in here and there over Copper Harbor. Just a little daring, while learning to appreciate the beauty of the U.P. (disclaimer: no children were put in danger or harmed during the shooting of this scene). ;-)
Keeping with the talented and a bit daring theme, our video feature today is from the 2011 Bridgefest Parade, featuring the Cirque Da UP performing their amazing juggling acts during a lull in the parade action along the route. I have all I can do to ride my bike without crashing... these folks are pretty amazing both on their unicycles and off.

I can't imagine how many hours of practice time
went into that juggling act. Holy smokes!
The fog over Lake Superior is a great picture but
picture of that lake is absolutely Superior!!
