As you may have noticed throughout the past 19 years, close-up photos have been a regular feature each week. The most common shots up close have been of nature here UP North... like today's first photo snapped by Donn de Yampert back in 2002. Those raindrops are glistening like small jewels on the leaves and sure made for a beautiful capture.
Jump ahead a few years to 2007 and Ashley Byykkonen moved right in close to get a good look at the Lily of the Valley. Flowers being one of the many close-ups that have appeared throughout the years, the only thing missing is being able to smell them, too!
And now, 10 years later, Ashley's Mom, Judy Byykkonen shares her front yard garden. I see irises, poppies and lupines, did I miss any colorful beauties? Sure is nice to see so much color around.
Speaking of lupines, I've noticed they're popping up all over along the highway now. I found a video from a year ago this time, showing the colors of wild lupines growing here in the U.P. Don't blink once you start it playing or you'll miss them... it's a quick video, but it gets you right there in the midst of these unique wildflowers. Enjoy!

Wonderful to see flowers here. It was great to see all of the lupine growing on the sides of the road on our trip there this month. The 3rd picture is gorgeous!

Short and sweet, what a treat, fell off my seat, as lupines I greet!
